Nadine has over 25 years of experience in Assistive Technology (AT), specialising in supporting individuals with profound and multiple learning disabilities, including cerebral palsy, sensory impairments, learning difficulties, and physical disabilities.

With personal experience of autism (PDA profile), ADHD, and sensory processing disorders, Nadine brings both professional knowledge and lived experience to her work, offering a comprehensive understanding of the needs and challenges faced by individuals who rely on AT.

Having held significant roles within Quality Enabling Devices (QED), Inclusive Technology and more recently Sensory Guru, Nadine has sought to collaborate with professionals in education, healthcare, and social care, working across diverse settings such as schools, family homes, residential facilities, spinal injury units, and rehabilitation centres. Over the years she has built up considerable experience assessing individuals and recommending assistive technology solutions tailored to their needs.

Her technical expertise spans eye-tracking technology, augmentative and alternative communication systems, environmental controls and alarm systems - including specialist switching and wheelchair mounting systems.

 Her expertise extends to neurodivergence and she has worked within a leading charity, providing Music Therapy for autistic students with complex needs, including challenging behaviours - adding depth to her understanding of adaptations for communication, interacting with the environment, sensory play and engagement.

Nadine has played a significant role in the advancement of special needs technology, serving as Board Secretary of the British Assistive Technology Association and as a founding Board Director of DATEurope, a European industry association.

She has delivered numerous presentations and training sessions within the AT sector including ATAAC and as an independent consultant continues to collaborate closely with industry-leading manufacturers and service providers. 

In line with all SMA experts, Nadine holds an Enhanced Disclosure Certificate from the Disclosure and Barring Service. She is also working towards the Bond Solon/Cardiff University Expert Witness Certificate.
